Festival season is upon us. Who’s going to Coachella? You can catch me awkwardly dancing in the desert during Weekend One. I haven’t been Coachella the past couple of years cause I was in New York, so I’m excited, especially because Beyonce will be there this year! Other than that, there’s festival shopping to look forward to.
Do you guys have your festival looks all lined up? OMG, can I tell you a secret? Yeah…I’ve been procrastinating (which isn’t at all surprising if you know me). Ugh, no es bueno. I do have some thoughts though…and if you waited until the last minute like me, maybe this will help.
MATCHING SETS
Who doesn’t love a cute matching set? It’s an effortless (emphasis on the effortless) way to look chic and put together.
GRAPHIC TEE + DENIM
Graphic tees or tank and denim shorts (or a skirt) are classic festival wear. But do yourself a favor and leave your long jeans at home, unless you don’t mind baking in a 90+ degrees desert.
FLIRTY DRESSES, ROMPERS, OR JUMPSUITS
It gets pretty hot during the day. And personally, I’m not great with heat. I prefer a cooler climate. If you’re like me, loose clothing is the way to go.
SWIMWEAR & BODYSUITS
Go from pool party to festival grounds by pairing a one-piece with denim shorts or wide leg pants. Bodysuits are also a good alternative. Throw on a kimono for when the temperature drops and you’re golden.
SHOES
There’s a reason why boots and sneakers rule the festival grounds. Between five stages, you’ll be walking a ton. So ladies, leave the super high heels at home and you’re feet will thank you. It’s a personal preference, but I also tend to stay away from sandals cause I hate getting my feet dusty. Plus you don’t want people stepping on your toes when you’re dancing the night away in the Sahara tent.
ACCESSORIES
Sunglasses are a must. Duh. Hats are good if you’re not into sunglasses. Small backpacks, belt bags (aka fanny packs), crossbodies….yes please. Portable charger so you won’t miss an insta-worthy moment. Bandanas, cause you never know when a dust storm might kick up.
BEAUTY
Sunblock, sunblock, sunblock! I love a good tan, but no one wants skin cancer, sun spots, or wrinkles. Yikes! Colorful mascara and liners are in this season and it’s a perfect fit for festivals. Lip balm, cause I’m addicted. I like to keep my makeup pretty light, cause it’s hot AF and you’ll be sweating everything off anyways. As for hair, wave spray and dry shampoo!
