fall must see movies

fall must see movies

Fall is upon us. And there are so many great movies coming out that I can’t wait to see. What better way to escape the fall chill than to grab a bucket of popcorn, get cozy, and escape to a different world for two hours or so.

The Danish Girl. I’ve been waiting forever to see this. Eddie Redmayne as Lili Elbe, one of the first known recipients of gender reassignment surgery. This is a definite can’t miss.

Pan. Controversial casting aside, I do want to see this film. It’s obvious I’m a big fan of Peter Pan, look no further than the name of this blog for proof of that. Plus it has Garrett Hedlund is in it. Can’t wait to hear him say “second to the right, straight on till morning.”

The Intern. Fun and heartwarming comedies are Nancy Meyers’ bread and butter. This one doesn’t look like it deviates much from Meyers’ forte, so it surely won’t disappoint.

Mockingjay – Part 2. I cried so hard reading the last installment of the Hunger Games series. Definitely have to reread this before the movie comes out (maybe I’ll reread the entire series). It’s going to be bittersweet saying goodbye to Katniss and crew.

The Big Short. Adapted from Michel Lewis’ book about the credit and housing bubble and staring Brad Pitt, Christian Bale, Ryan Gosling, and Steve Carell. Looks promising.

MacBethMacBeth is actually the first work by Shakespeare I ever read, so it holds a special place in my heart.

Spectre. Bond. James Bond. Need I say more? Can’t wait to see the cars and gadgets.

Sisters. Tina Fey and Amy Poehler? I’m there.

The Night Before. Three ride or die best friends out in New York on Christmas Eve? Hi-jinks and hilarity are sure to ensue.

Room. This has been on my reading list for a while. I’ll be sure to read it before the movie comes out.
